Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains what personal information IPSC Belfast ("we", "us"), the Belfast branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign, collects through this website and how we use it.

What we collect and why

  • Contact form. If you send us a message we receive your name, email address, subject and message. We use these only to read and reply to your message.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe we store your email address so we can send you news about events, campaigns and actions. You can ask us to remove you at any time.
  • Walk for Palestine. When you log a walk we store its date and distance, and a scrambled (hashed) version of the personal code we give you so you can come back and edit your walks. We do not ask for or store your name, email address, location or route, and the public page never shows who a walk belongs to. Your browser also keeps your code locally so you don't have to retype it.
  • Administrator accounts. The volunteers who manage this site have accounts storing their name and email address, used only to sign in and manage content.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses only essential cookies, for example to keep administrators signed in and to protect forms from forgery. We also remember in your browser that you dismissed the cookie notice. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

Third-party services

  • The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure.
  • The Walk for Palestine page uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused “I am human” check, to stop automated spam. It is loaded from Cloudflare and subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when you visit a page.
  • Our Calendar page may show an embedded Google Calendar, which is loaded from Google and is subject to Google's own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep messages and newsletter details only for as long as we need them for the purposes above, and delete them when you ask us to or when they are no longer needed.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to how we use it. To do any of this, contact us. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
